3 Amazing Ways to Help Aging Skin

Three Things That Will Change The Way You Approach Lipstick

As you might have noticed, the blogosphere has been a little obsessed with lips lately. From matt to gloss, pastels to bombshell reds and *those* injections, lips are big news! Which brings me to the question, are you making the best of your lips? Is it one coat of a natural lipstick in the morning and that it's for the day? I urge you to step out of your comfort zone and try something a bit different.

Lip Care

Firstly use a lip scrub to get rid of all the dead and dry skin, that could flake and ruin your look. You can buy specialist products, but if you're on a budget, try buffing making your own lip buff or using a dry toothbrush.

Correct Application

First foundation. Yep, you heard me right. I want you to use foundation on your lips! What this does, is it provides a fantastic base for your lipstick. It also de-emphasises the natural shape of your lips, which is perfect for our next step - overlining.

Take your lip liner and trace around the outside edge of your lips. This trick makes your lips seem fuller instantly. Then fill in your lips with the liner, leaving a space in the middle of the top and bottom lip, about as wide as your thumb. That's when your need to grab either a white lip gloss or a white highlighter crayon. Colour in the gap in white. Then take a brush and blend and buff until there are no visible lines between the lip liner and the highlighter. Leave this to set for a minute or two.

Then use a lip brush to apply one coat of your lipstick. This will allow you to be more accurate and help the lipstick last longer. Paint a line from the top left-hand corner of your cupid's bow to the bottom right side of your top lip. Repeat on the other side. Then fill in the rest of the top and bottom lips.

Blot with tissue so you don't get that icky mark on your teeth. Then cover with a top coat to set your lips and improve the wear time.

Ok, so maybe you haven't got time to do this every day? If that is the case, they how about a quick life hack, that gives you almost the same result in a fraction of the time? Buff your lips and cover with foundation. Line with a clear liner and apply your favourite like these. Blot. Then grab some white pearly pink eyeshadow on your index finger and rub across the middle of your bottom lip. It's that easy!

New Trends

If you are feeling adventurous, you could also try the new Ombre lip trend. Purchase cosmetics online to get this look. Start with a darker lipstick on the outer edged of the lip and a paler one on the inner edges. Make sure you blend and top with a clear lip gloss for the most effect.

To get even fuller lips, use a darker lip liner to draw vertical lines on the bottom lip before blending. Complete the rest of the steps as above and maybe you could even give Kylie Jenner a run for her money!

Selfridges Exchange Launches Exclusive Film in Partnership with The Lowry

Selfridges Exchange has launched an exclusive new short film, commissioned by The Lowry, as part of the store’s national everyBODY campaign.

Entitled everyBODY Dance, the beautiful and evocative film – shot in black and white – shows a range of people of all ages dancing in a range of

different styles on a stage in an empty theatre.

Commissioned by The Lowry in partnership with Selfridges, the film was created by award winning British production company, Dusthouse.

Shoppers and passers-by will be able to watch the two-minute film in the store’s windows (facing on to Exchange Square) until late June.

‘Like so many other forms of art, dance is a great way for people to express themselves and articulate what’s going on in their life - and the lives of those around them. Selfridges’ everyBODY campaign chimes perfectly with that belief and we are delighted to bring the beauty of people dancing to their Manchester store.”

The everyBODY campaign, which launched in March and continues until June, aims to celebrate the body; enhancing it, supporting it and strengthening it. Other activity has included pop up workout classes, healthy dining and beauty and wellness events in both Selfridges Exchange Square and Selfridges Trafford.

Packing for a trip

Hi everyone, 

How are you all? 

Sometimes I feel like I'm the last at the party why have I never been to lovethesales.com
This site is so good it's turned in to my obsession. It's simple to use has everything from sports good to designer handbags! Oh my gosh you know I love a bargain so a site devoted to this is just my heaven. 

So I am away to the Alps mountain biking in about a month we are driving with 4 people and 4 bikes. So not much room for packing! (Oh no) I have been looking for a 40l bag that's built to withstand a biking trip. I love berghaus but let's face it it's quality and it comes with a whopping price tag. 

I wanted the blue 40l bag which retails at £80. Quite steep for a bag I thought! 
Enter lovethesales.com and after a quick search it was on there at £40 yeah get in my basket. 

This bag is small but mighty. I really thought it was going to be tiny but as you can see from the photos it holds a lot of kit. As you can see the glossy box is swamped in it. And my weight fits in fine to. This is just to show you how much this can hold. I like the handy pockets especially the one in the top flap very handy. It's very well mad and to be honest bomb proof it's going to be the perfect bag for the Alps. 

I can't get off this site it's so good so grab a deal!

How To Look After Your Mind As You Get Older!

As we get older, our memory can start to fade and we can become quite forgetful. We should ensure that we keep our mind working so that we can protect ourselves from brain diseases such as Alzheimer and Dementia. Here’re some ways to look after your mind as you get older.

Keep testing your brain

As you get older, you should still be working your brain so that it keeps being just as effective. It can be hard once we retire to stay motivated. And even when we are younger, using a calculator means we don’t have to use our brains as much when it comes to practical tasks. Test your brain by still working with numbers and keep reading to ensure it’s getting motivation. You can even get some games such as brain training which can help you to test your brain and get it working again. In paper form, you can do games such as sudoku, crosswords and jigsaws to get it ticking!

Take nutrients

Another way to look after your memory is to ensure that you are consuming enough nutrients. A lot of people are not eating enough fruit and vegetables so they are not getting enough nutrients every day which can impair your memory. Communicate with others

The best way to keep your memory working is to ensure you are communicating with others regularly. If you don’t speak to many people, your brain will stop working as well. If you do want to retire, then make sure you volunteer or start doing a hobby every day so that you are still using your brain every day.

Keep active

You should make sure you keep active if you want to keep your brain working for longer. Doing exercises such as yoga and pilates can help your memory as you are having to concentrate on completing some hard poses. Here’re some other fun exercises you can do.
