Staying Young Forever Is Impossible?

Staying young forever is impossible. But looking great isn’t. Here are some beauty tips for women no matter what your age.

Use Soft Eye Makeup

While shimmering or glittery eye shadow might be great at drawing attention, it’s probably best to stick with a matte shadow as you get older. Apply the makeup to your eye socket area, but avoid raising your brow. This will help to make the eye area appear bigger and wider, according to Tricia Cusden, a makeup expert from LookFabulousForever.com. She also suggests widening the makeup area towards the edges of the eyes to make them appear slightly fully.

Apply Daily Primers

Makeup artists that applying makeup directly to the face could sometimes end in disaster, especially if it fell off during the day. As a result, they began using primers as a base layer to help makeup stick. Primers aren’t so important when you’re young. But as you get older and the skin starts to develop fine lines, it becomes more important. Applying a primer will help keep foundation on your skin for longer and prevents lines from forming around areas prone to creasing, like the mouth and the smile lines.

Be Bold With Your Hair

Even if you’re not in your twenties anymore, it doesn’t mean that you can’t have a unique style. Choose a haircut that suits the shape of your face and can be worn in any way you like, no matter what the occasion.

Have A Bedtime Ritual

Websites like Zwivel.com point out that as people get older, they begin to lose firmness in the skin on their face and body. That’s why so many experts, including Cusden, recommend that people have a nightly moisturizing ritual. After a long day, especially in the winter, your skin can be dry. Try to lock in moisture while you’re asleep so that your body can repair the damage done during the day, leaving you feeling fresh in the morning. A good long soak in the bath followed by emollient cream should help your skin feel more hydrated.

Regularly Exfoliate Your Face And Body

According to Cusden, of the biggest problems for women in the thirties and beyond is increasing dryness of the skin. All the natural fats that once kept the skin supple are no longer doing their job. As a result, she recommends exfoliation. This, she says, helps the lipids in the skin reach the surface more easily without bits of dead surface skin getting in the way.

Exfoliating too often can damage the skin, she says. And so she recommends that women perform a maximum of two exfoliations each week. This should remove the majority of dead skin and keep the surface of the skin supple.

After exfoliating, it’s a good idea to apply a small amount of moisturizer to loosen and nourish the skin underneath. This not only helps to make skin feel smooth and soft, but it also helps make makeup easier to apply. Look out for scrubs that contain AHAs, as these accelerate skin surface renewal.
