It's my favourite day of the week on MissLJbeauty its Inspirational Sunday!
this week I have asked the gorgeous Shell from whatshellsays
to tell me who Inspires her. If you don't know Shell get over and check out her blog, she blogs about beauty fashion and more. I love reading her posts and so will you.
Firstly I'd like to say a huge thank you to Laura for asking me to write a guest post for MissLJBeauty. I'm also so grateful that I got to write the post for the 'Inspirational Sundays' series as it's one of the reasons why I was inspired to start my blog! I've chosen to write my post on my new jewellery obsession - Alyssa Smith Jewellery. So grab a cuppa, get comfy and read on.....
Alyssa is 27 years old and lives and works in Hertfordhsire. From a very young age she knew she wanted to make jewellery and dreamed of creating gorgeous collections under her own name. Alyssa graduated from the The University of Hertfordshire with a degree in Applied Arts & Marketing. She didn't study jewellery design or undertake any form of business training and had no funds to start up her business, so for the the first year she worked in a jewellery shop, did car boot sales and hosted jewellery parties for family and friends to enable her to buy the materials needed to create her first collection of jewellery.
Unfortunately Alyssa's first collection wasn't a success as it just wasn't what potential customers wanted. She then decided to change her business focus and started designing jewellery according to customer demand and this is where she had her first breakthrough - the 'Tweetie'!
After realising how popular the social media platform Twitter was, Alyssa designed a necklace with a cute little bird charm based on the blue Twitter bird icon. She tweeted a few celebrities about her new necklace and sent some out to a few, including the lovely Sheridan Smith. Soon people started spotting the necklace on TV and in magazines and everyone wanted one! The business has grown from strength to strength since then and in the past year alone Alyssa Smith Jewellery Ltd has either won or been nominated for over 17 National Business or Accessories Awards!
I discovered Alyssa Smith Jewellery about 4 months ago (on Twitter! See how great it can be for businesses! Perhaps I should get myself a Tweetie too!) I already have a little growing collection of beautiful sparkles. I love the fact that each piece has been handcrafted by Alyssa in her studio and she's so passionate about what she does. Her customer service is amazing too!
I currently own the Love & Protection Silver Necklace (£45)
And the Shooting Star Swarovski Crystal Pendant (£30)
I also ordered some gorgeous 'Glitterbug' stud earrings last night which were reduced in the sale to £18.....bargain!
I now have my eyes on the stunning Allegra Collection next!
I highly recommend you check out Alyssa's gorgeous creations at www.alyssasmith.co.uk and if you're on Twitter go and follow her @AlyssaJewellery, she's a lovely lady and always has me giggling with her tweets!
Woo another amazing Lady! Now I need some of her amazing pieces, what do you think? MissLJBeauty xoxo
