How are you?
One of the hardest things about any wedding, when you are a wedding guest is what to wear right? My husband I and were very lucky and invited down to Slater Menswear In Glasgow to choose an outfit for my husband.
If you have never had the pleasure of going to Slaters in Glasgow Or any Slater. I will give you an insight into how our adventure went. We were greeted by the lovely PR manager Jonny, who was super friendly and professional.
Slaters is a bit of a tardis. From the outside, it looks like a normal office building but when you venture within you are transported to menswear heaven. There are numerous floors of everything you could ever need from men's suits, kilts, to evening wear. You name it Slater has it covered.
We had decided to go for a Harris tweed look. I think nothing says Scottish wedding like nice tweed. Jonny knew just the man to help us with our selection. I have never seen such a nice menswear store. Super clean and meticulously organised.
Our advisor. (sorry I can't remember his name) took one look at my husband and knew what would suit him and he even knew his jacket size. He did a quick measure and this confirmed his size. This gentleman really knew his stuff. Even recommending the blue tweed as he thought it would suit my husband the best.
This is the gorgeous HARRIS TWEED Blue Tweed Tailored Fit Blazer and Waistcoat. (Blazer £135 and Waistcoat £59) The quality of this blazer and waistcoat is divine and at such a reasonable price. One of the best things about Slaters is they sell high-quality items at reasonable prices. These items will last a lifetime. Slater offers a free alteration service but we were super lucky that this was not needed. I honestly couldn't believe when my husband slipped it on it fitted like a glove.
Next up, it was time to match the trousers to the tweed. Our advisor knew instantly the right pair. Meyer Navy Melbourne straight leg £75.00 in photos below. Stunning fit and I am told they are very comfortable. Again these were the perfect fit. Our advisor was on fire with sizing and he knew what fit would suit my Husband. This was the first pair he tried on and he was very happy with them.
Next up we were guided up to the shirt floor. Yes, I said floor. I have never in my life seen so many shirts. In every colour and shade imaginable. We were Introduced to a lovely girl, who was to help us choose a shirt and tie to match the outfit we had already chosen. She spent time choosing the right shirt. We decided on a slim fit as this looked a lot better under the waistcoat and gave a better silhouette. A nice light blue oneSix5ive shirt £18 and a stunning textured Onesix5ive knitted Tie £8. I love the texture contrast between the tweed and the tie. I think it really set off the outfit. It binds in the brown buttons of the tweed suit and completes the outfit. It's now time to see the finished look.
I could not recommend Slaters enough. My husband was very nervous about going to the store, as he had the whole stereotype in this head of a suit salesmen. This has been completely wiped out of this mind. From start to finish we were treated like royalty. The staff at slater really makes the store even more special. They are a credit to the store and make you feel at ease and are happy to help you from start to finish. I am looking forward to my next excuse to buy from slater.
