Embryolisse lait-crème concentré review

Well, the weather has really changed, and I am feeling very cold, and so is my skin. This is a good opportunity to chat about one of my all-time favourite moisturisers. Embryolisse lait-crème concentré. This has been a firm favourite in my routine for years. I am a bit picky when it comes to skincare. I don't tend to spend money on products unless they are good, and like you, I spend a lot of time reading reviews before spending my hard-earned money on products.

Let's get into the review, but first, let me tell you about my skin.

I have combination skin. I tend to get very dry and dehydrated this winter. I spend a lot of time outdoors mountain biking, and as you can imagine, this plays havoc with my skin and skin barrier. I also have some small blackheads. I live in the Scottish Highlands. The weather here is very unpredictable right now, it is -7 and snowing so you know it also has its challenges.

When I am looking for a moisturiser, I want it to be a good hydrator but also not greasy, and I do not want it to clog my pores even more. I also don't want to spend a fortune on a moisturiser; there are so many good ones on the market that it is hard to justify spending a lot on one nowadays. I buy mine from amazon on sale and subscribe, so that must show how much I can't be without this product.

Why Embryolisse lait-crème concentré ?

First of all, I love French skincare Embryolisse does skin care really well and has a wide range of options from moisturisers to cleansers. I think French skincare labs are amazing and when I travel to France I am like a child in a sweet shop. It is heaven to me.

Embryolisse lait-crème concentré is a multi-use product. It can be used as a moisturiser, make-up primer,  cleanser, moisturising mask, aftershave cream and after sun. This product can do it all. Embryolisse lait-crème concentré comes in 30ml or 75ml.

Quick Take

A French pharmacy staple that earns its cult status for a reason. Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré is fuss-free, multi-use, and makes makeup glide on like a dream. Not revolutionary, but still a solid staple worth keeping in your skincare stash in 2025.

Ingredient Breakdown

Key Ingredients & What They Do

Here’s the simple breakdown of what’s inside this cult French cream:

  • Shea Butter – deeply nourishing and softening, helps tackle dry patches.

  • Soy Protein – supports skin’s elasticity and keeps things feeling firm.

  • Aloe Vera – soothing, calming, and hydrating (especially after sun exposure).

  • Beeswax – creates a protective barrier to lock in moisture without feeling suffocating.

It’s a back-to-basics formula that’s stood the test of time. Nothing fancy or trend-driven, just ingredients that work.

How to use Embryolisse lait-crème concentré?
This is a really simple product to use. It is a little runny in consistency, so be careful on first opening your tube. You just need a small amount to use as a moisturiser or primer. Just apply it to your face and massage it. To remove makeup again, use a small amount of massage into the face and wash off with water.

Texture, Scent & Application

The texture is creamy but lightweight. It spreads effortlessly, sinks in quickly, and doesn’t leave my skin sticky.

The scent? A soft, powdery-fresh fragrance, very French pharmacy. I personally love it, but if you’re super sensitive to fragrance, you’ll want to patch test first. But also, you all know how I feel about scent in skincare its not really needed, is it?

When I apply it, I find a pea-sized amount is plenty for daytime. If I want more of a mask effect, I layer it on thicker and let it sit for 10–15 minutes.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Multi-purpose: moisturiser, primer, mask, cleanser

  • Sits beautifully under makeup

  • Gentle, soothing, and reliable

  • Affordable compared to luxe creams

Cons

  • Contains fragrance (not for everyone)

  • Can feel a little too rich for oily skin types

  • May not be heavy enough for extremely dry winter skin

Who Should Use It?

  • Normal to dry skin – you’ll love the hydration and comfort.

  • Combination skin – works well as a primer without being greasy.

  • Very oily skin – might feel too rich, better saved for dry patches only.

  • Sensitive skin – mostly fine, but patch test due to the fragrance.

  • Very dry skin – may need something heavier layered on top in winter.

  • Mature skin – great for boosting hydration and smoothing fine lines under makeup, though you might want to pair it with something richer at night.

My review of Embryolisse lait-crème concentré

I have had Embryolisse lait-crème concentré in my make-up bag for so many years I actually can not remember where I first got it. I know I have purchased in France, but I am not sure if that was the first time. I love the lightweight consistency of this cream. It can be runny but I think there has been a slight rejig of the formula, as the last few tubes I have had have been thicker. They have also redesigned the packaging to an off-white colour, which I am not the biggest fan of. I preferred the old packaging.

Embryolisse lait-crème concentré is in a metal tube, and it can be a little hard to get the very last bit out, but that is the only downside to this product. I find it a good saviour if I get sunburnt or if my skin is having a reaction to something, but equally, it is just a great everyday non-clogging moisturiser. It does have added fragrance, but I have no issues with this. It is very light and doesn't linger on the skin.

Embryolisse lait-crème concentré leaves my skin feeling fresh, rehydrated and revitalised. I mean, what more can you ask for in a moisturiser? I have no problems with my makeup pilling or anything. I actually love this as a hydrating base as I think it helps my make-up last longer and my skin look plumper and more youthful. I honestly could not be without this product, new and that in itself is a big deal for me. Embryolisse lait-crème concentré is a perfect multi-use product and is worthy of your money.

If I were going to a desert island, this would be one of the few products that would be top of my list to pack in my bag.

I hope you are enjoying me bringing back my reviews I know Im enjoying writing them.
