Safely Remove Ear Wax
Your ears are hardly noticed unless you put in your earrings or tuck a wayward strand of hair behind one of them. Of course, you know the importance of taking care of your body, including both of your ears, but you might need a little extra help if you notice more buildup than usual or if your hearing is somewhat diminished. When that happens, contact a licensed hearing professional for an assessment and ear wax removal. You will be amazed at how much better your ears feel and how much better you can hear.Floss Your Teeth
Your teeth are essential for a good life. Diligent oral care can help prevent unwanted plaque from entering your arteries, which can lead to serious systemic health issues, such as heart disease and possible cognitive issues like dementia. Take time after every meal, if you can, to floss your teeth. If that is not possible, flossing your teeth before going to bed every evening will be sufficient. Of course, you also need to brush your teeth at least twice per day, and more often if you are able to do so.Focus on Flexibility
When you were young, you could probably bend your body like a pretzel. As you age, it becomes more difficult to stretch your body. This is especially true if you have not focused on stretching. Over time, it can become difficult to bend down and tie your shoe or take care of your toenails. Luckily, you can regain much of your flexibility simply by beginning to incorporate stretching into your daily life. When you get out of bed in the morning, your body is often the stiffest it will be because you have been lying down for many hours. Add stretching to your morning routine to help regain your flexibility.Do Nothing
The art of doing nothing is elusive for many people. The world is busier now than it ever was. And even if you are not actively engaged in an activity or conversation, your phone is always with you. If you have a moment or two each day, try to set it aside to do (almost) nothing. Make a nice cup of tea and sit down in a warm spot in your home or in the back garden with a tasty biscuit. Turn your phone over and watch the world around you. Observe the sun shining through the leaves in your favourite tree. Watch the fuzzy bumblebee flitting around the flowers. And listen to the sounds of the birds fluttering about. Think about whatever comes to your mind and be in the moment. These little gifts of time in which you do nothing are valuable. They can help you refocus and be more intentional about your day. It is almost a practice of mindfulness.Take a Day Off
The business of life can cause you a lot of stress. You need to run errands for you and your family, your parents need extra help these days, and your home is a bit of a mess. It is okay. Things happen. And yet, sometimes you need more time. Since you cannot create more time for yourself, you should take a day off every so often to catch up on life. This day should not include much fun, unfortunately. It should be a day guided by a realistic to-do list that you can actually accomplish. Take on everything that needs to be done so you do not feel so far behind.Ask for Help
When your life is so packed full of responsibilities, you probably need help. The first place you should start is with your family. If you are the one who has always done the extra work at home and picked up everyone’s slack, it is time to have an honest conversation about what you can and should do. Meet with your family and openly assign the work. When everyone works together, you can live a better life and take care of yourself in the process.Image Credit
