First, there is the festive season, a time of abundance and indulgence; then, there is the aftermath in the new year. If you’re like most people, the new year is a chance to get your life back on track and slim down after the party. Here are five popular diets for you to try out.

Intermittent Fasting

One of the best ways to lose weight fast and bring balance to your body is to practice intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting is not new; it’s been used for thousands of years to reduce weight and sharpen the senses; think of religious fasting such as lent and others.

There are different ways to practice intermittent fasting, which is why it is such a popular way to lose weight and improve wellness. The 16/8 method invites you to fast for 16 hours and eat for 8, or you could

try the 5:2 diet that invites you to fast for 2 full days throughout a typical week.

Ketogenic Diet

One of the reasons people put weight on is because of eating high-sugar, high-fat foods. These fast calories are easy for the body to burn and are therefore used up first, storing fat in the process. One alternative is to consume more protein that helps the body to burn fat stores.

The ketogenic diet is based on the idea of consuming more protein to burn fat stores, and it works well for many people. The ketogenic diet is quite controlled, so you will have to buy an app or talk to a dietician; either way, it is one to try out in the new year to see if it suits you.

Vegan Diet

There are numerous reasons to try a vegan diet; it’s not just a way to live a more healthy lifestyle. When you switch to a vegan diet, you slash your carbon footprint because you are no longer supporting a carbon-heavy economy. Additionally, you are living a cruelty-free lifestyle.

As if that wasn’t enough, a vegan diet is also super healthy and allows you to lose weight fast. In the past, it was more difficult to eat a vegan diet because of the lack of vegan-friendly products, but that is no longer the case. Nowadays, it’s easier, but try to be a healthy vegan.

Mediterranean Diet

Mediterranean countries have some of the longest life expectancies in the world, and while that might be down to the sun, sea, and sand, to some extent, a lot of people think it is mostly to do with the diet. A Mediterranean diet is made up of vegetables, fish, fruits, grains, and olive oil.

If you have iron deficiency symptoms you might experience some fatigue or some problems sleeping, this is often a result of an unbalanced diet. Choosing a Mediterranean diet in the new year is an excellent chance to enjoy some great-tasting foods and give your iron levels a boost.

Paleo diet

The paleo diet also called the caveman diet, is a very effective and interesting way to lose weight and improve your health. Like our ancient ancestors, the paleo diet invites us to eat basic foods like meat, fish, and grains and to avoid processed foods or anything that isn’t wholesome.
