 Today, we’re talking Foundation again, and one of the most hyped beauty products in the game, the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. You know I’m all about honest reviews, especially when it comes to matte foundations that claim to offer a flawless, soft matte finish. This sounds so me right.

I need to tell you a few things first. I tried one of Fenty's other foundations, the Eaze Drops and i really didn't like them at all. They just didn't work for me and I so wanted to love them. Maybe it was my skin at the time or something but oh how I didn't get on with that product. So I think this is what put me off trying fenty beauty's pro filt'r for so long.  It just didn't live up to the hype of blurring skin tint, but maybe it was my bottle. I don't know. So I went into this review without any high hopes actually the opposite. So, is this one really worth the buzz? 

First off if you are new to my reviews, I have combination skin and I love to hyper fixate on products so like to really put them to the test before we chat about them. I am sure this is something to do with my dylexica. But it makes me a good reviewer. I bought the travel size in 240 light medium and I did this for a few reasons. Mostly, I was scared I wouldn't like it and didn't want to waste money. It is currently £16 but I got it on sale.

Best for Oily Skin: Mattifying Properties If you’re like me and struggle with a shiny t-zone, this is a dream. It genuinely helps stay matte throughout the day and controls oil without making you look flat. 

Is It Suitable for Dry Skin? Dry skin types might want to prep well with a rich moisturiser or a hydrating primer. While it’s not drying, it’s still a matte formula, so you want to avoid clinging to any dry patches. I just add a really good primer to my dry areas in winter especially. But I would be doing that anyways. 

How It Works for Combination Skin For combination skin, it balances things beautifully. I tend to get oily in the centre and dry on the cheeks,  this keeps me matte where I need it and doesn’t cake elsewhere. But matte doesn't mean flat, remember that. 

What is the Shade Range of Fenty Beauty Pro Foundation?

Comprehensive Look at the 53 Shades Available Let’s talk shade range, this foundation comes in a whopping 53 shades. Yes,  over 50 shades of foundation! From fair skin with warm olive undertones to deep cool tones, Fenty’s got you covered. I am using 240 light medium. I am actually a hard person to foundation match. I have a very yellow undertone to my skin. I have grey / blue eyes and before I hit the bleach, light brown hair. But 240 is great for me. I used their clever shade matcher and for an online guess this was really good. 

Finding Your Perfect Match for Different Skin Tones It’s honestly one of the best when it comes to shade match. There’s a good balance of undertones across the board, so whether you’re warm, cool, neutral or olive, there’s a match for you If i can get it so right they are really on to a winner there. 

Inclusivity in Makeup: A Closer Look at the Shade Range Rihanna wasn’t playing when she said inclusive and the fact that this is now the standard in the industry is down to Fenty Beauty. No more guessing between three shades! Yes to her. 

How to Apply the Fenty Beauty Pro Soft Matte Foundation?

Tools You Need: Sponge vs. Foundation Brush I’ve tried both a damp sponge gives you a more natural finish, while a foundation brush gives you fuller coverage. Depends on the look you’re after!

Step-by-Step Foundation Application Guide

1. Start with cleansed, moisturised skin

2. Apply a primer suited to your skin type (hydrating or mattifying)

3. Dot the foundation on your face

4. Blend with your tool of choice brush, sponger. fingers even, 

5. Use concealer if needed on blemishes or under the eyes

6. Set lightly with powder (optional)

Tips for Achieving a Natural Finish 

Use a damp sponge and work in light layers, This foundation is buildable and it is easy to build it up unlike other foundations I have found, you can go from medium coverage to full coverage foundation without looking overdone.

It starts off at medium coverage but builds beautifully to full coverage. Great for hiding acne and blemishes or just evening out your skin.

One pump is plenty for a natural look, but if you want that glam foundation look, just add more! It doesn’t go patchy or heavy. You can also mix it with your moisturiser for a fresher daytime look too. 

Long-Wear Performance and Staying Power 

This stuff lasts. I tested it on a busy day with walking, errands, and a dinner out and also out mountain biking, getting sweaty in the hills and it stayed put. No touch-ups needed, and it didn’t transfer onto my clothes Why do more foundation not work on that. I actually wore a white top and then changed and forgot I was wearing foundation. You can imagine the panic halfway through but not a bit on my t-shirt. Thats incredible. 

Are There Any Drawbacks to the Fenty Beauty Pro Soft Matte Foundation?

Common Concerns: Does It Highlight Fine Lines? If you’ve got more mature skin or fine lines, it may settle a little tiny bit, especially without a primer. But nothing major. Just prime well and its fine. 

Potential Issues for Sensitive Skin. Some sensitive skin types might want to patch test, it’s not heavily fragranced, but every skin is different.

Comparing with Other Matte Foundations Compared to the Estee Lauder Double Wear, this feels lighter and less drying, but still offers great coverage. I actually prefer the soft matte finish of Fenty!

Is the Fenty Beauty Pro Soft Matte Foundation Worth It?

Beauty Editor Reviews and Recommendations So many beauty editors rave about this and I totally get it. It lives up to the hype and is a fab pick for oily or combination skin. This is definitely worth the hype and the price. 

Pricing and Value for Money

It retails around £27 of £16 for the travel-sized, which is decent for a high-performing long-wear foundation. Mine is in a little tube but I have seen the bottle and feels luxe with its frosted glass, and a little goes a long way.

Final Verdict: Who Should Buy This Foundation?

 If you want a reliable, long-lasting matte foundation with an inclusive shade range, this is it. Ideal for anyone with oily, combo, or normal skin types, and perfect for those who love a polished, photo-ready skin look. I never thought I would fall in love with another foundation like I have with this one. We all know I harp on about my Chanel Aqua a little too much. But this is incredible. It evens out my complexion, it controls the shine in my t-zone its medium to full coverage but feels as light as a face tint.  Dont get the work matte wrong with this one it doesn't look drying. I know people hear the word matte nowadays and run for the hills because it all about glowy but this is more your skin, but better. Did I mention it matched my skin tone on first try? There is nothing like this foundation in my collection, I think I have been running from the word matte and maybe I should be running towards it. This is matte without the cake and I am here for it. Did I mention more than 50 shades too. I don't say this offen and I am not sponsored in anyways but I will be hopping back over to Fenty Beauty site or Sephora to buy more. That in itself says all you need to know about my love of this product.
