How to Give Your Garden a Modern Look

If you are a lover all of all things modern and what to transform your garden into a modern oasis. Let's face it we are all spending a lot of time at home and now is the time to start to plan our summer garden. I want to talk to you about how to transform your garden into a garden of dreams.

Modern garden design is Characterised by sleek lines and contemporary planting, the modern design is increasingly popular. Suitable for smaller gardens as well as larger outdoor spaces, these ideas will help you transform your garden from ordinary to an extraordinary modern outdoor space.

Modern garden design is identified by colour, clean lines and angles, texture, form and scale. Incorporating all of these is a way that it all goes together to complement each other. This will create the modern garden you are after.

But it doesn’t mean you have to have a big budget to complete revamp of your garden. A few new items here and there, along with clever choices will make a difference and create the image you are after.

Choose simple colours
Like a modern interior design scheme, the colour palette of your garden should be simple. Use two colours, and a third to draw in the eye. Colour is not just about planting either but a combination of plants and landscaping.

For a striking combination, use light grey paving stones or concrete alongside light green planting
Exposed brickwork is also a great backdrop in a modern garden design so make the most of the walls. For a modern twist, paint it white.

Consider Your lawn
One thing to consider is your lawn. I know I find cutting the grass a time-consuming chore. I have actually just had a quote for artificial grass (like astroturf). This will take the stress out of trying to keep your lawn in tiptop condition and not only that it is on a lot of homeowners' wish lists. Is there anything more modern than perfect grass all year round with no hassle?

If you have a natural lawn create contrast with simple, geometric-shaped lawns and pathways, softening the edges with flowers hanging over the edge. Add long-lasting plants which will help the garden to remain lush, colourful and eye-catching for as long as possible. Plus you will need to find out how to get rid of moss in lawn as this can be not only and eye sore but really bad for your garden.

The finishing touches
Just because it looks modern, feels modern and has bright modern colours doesn’t mean it has to be completely modern. You can spice up your garden with fun accessories and garden furniture.

Fencing
Mix up lines. when using fencing, the battens and framework tend to run horizontally, for obvious reasons. Introducing vertical lines softens the horizontal landscape. Attach flat climbing frames to fences, and use climbing plants to add a bit of colour and texture to your oasis.

Lighting
An essential for any garden in the uk. A soft glow will add warmth to your garden. Why not opt for pretty solar string lights perfect for dotting about the garden.

A modern garden is a stylish option for any garden but you want to make the space your own. So make sure you are happy with the space you will be spending a lot of time in your garden in the next few months when the winter passes.

Now is a great time to look out for modern garden items in the sales. This makes it the perfect time to start your planning. I hope you have enjoyed this post.
