How to prepare yourself for autumn - MissLJBeauty

How to prepare yourself for autumn

We have turned a corner in the seasons. The sun is slowly losing its power and the days are shorter. This can only mean one thing. Autumn. Yes! Don't get me wrong I love summer. I love long hot days and sitting on the beach but there is something magical about autumn. I love this season! Today we are talking about how to prepare for autumn.

Skin
First, lets talk skin shall we? As you all know I am a qualified makeup artist and I would be doing an injustice if I didn't mention skin. Your skin has just gone through a lot. The summer may not have been all heatwaves and sangrias. It's now time to really think about your skincare. Now when I say skincare I don't just mean your face. A lot of people ditch there SPF in autumn. Don't be crazy. Keep that SPF firmly in your routine. This could be every day essential not every other day occurrence. The sun is not only very destructive to our skin but it can cause extreme damage and premature ageing. So grab that Factor 50 and get smearing it on.

I highly recommend adding some extra moisturiser into your routine. Why not treat yourself to a facial or nice facemask. Try to add as an extra to your routine. How about a facemask on a Sunday? A weekly treat for your skin.

Fashion
I love this season for one reason mainly. It is loungewear season. YES. I always treat myself to new velour loungewear from justyouroutfit in autumn. I currently have the one above on my list to buy. I think it is so cute.  As you all know I workout 5 times a week. This could not be more me. The navy colour is so on the season too. It would be rude to not treat myself right?
I love nothing more than coming home from a busy day and throwing on really comfy loungewear. Ok Who am I kidding, I am currently sat in a very comfy tracksuit. What? I work from home. I really do love this season for this reason.

Food.
I know you are thinking pumpkin spiced lattes. No that is not what I am talking about. Don't get me wrong, it's the season an all that but I want to mention something a bit different. The nights are drawing in and days feel shorter. This means one thing. The elephant in the room. It's cold and flu season. yes, I went there. It's time to make your body a temple. Make it a force to be reckoned with.

Prevention is better than a cure. It's time to stock up on the immune-boosting food and drinks. You know that saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Screw the doctor how about an orange a day to keep the cold away. I recommend adding vitamin C enriched foods and also only the best mushroom tea to your diet. We all know the advantages of vitamin C. Mushroom tea blended with turmeric and ginger is great as it is full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories which boost your immune system. I could write a whole post on food and drinks for fighting a cold but let's start easy.

You know what I am about to say if you have been a follower for a while. It time to drink your water. Water really is our life force. Even If I think I run on coffee some times. I recommend drinking as much water as you can. I drink at least a gallon of water a day. Having enough water really can make a huge difference in your life. You are less tired more alert and I could go on and on about the skin benefits But I won't.

I hope you have found some good tips from this post today. It's time to prepare for autumn.
