summer into autumn fashion that you need in your wardrobe now

well, we are marching towards autumn now. It might still be super hot outside but now is the time to get thinking about our summer into autumn fashion items. Everyone is on a tighter budget than usual this year. But let's keep this a happy fashion post and not grumble.

I love summer but I think autumn fashion is my all-time favourite. I just like the style of autumn. I believe this is the Highlander in me as we don't quite get the weather they have in the south so I tend to have a lot more autumnal picks in my wardrobe than summer options.

So without further a do let's get into the items you need to be adding to your wardrobe to get you through to winter.

Co-ords

The weather is so changeable that one of the best options is to go for a nice casual co-ord set. I am a massive fan of a co-ord. I just think they work and take all the outfit planning away from me.

There are so many good ones out there. The most popular co ord sets for women right now tend to be ones that will transcend the season. A perfect one is this little purple shirt and jumper option. This will work as the cooler night draw in and in the day when it is a lot warmer. Pop a vest top underneath and you will have the right combo for right now.

Trousers
We have all got our summer trousers and shorts. It is now time to think about the cooler autumn night and the fact there will start to be a right chill in the air. So now we need to look at adding some trousers to our wardrobe to keep warmer.

Flare trousers are due to make a massive come back again this season and I am here for it as I love a flare. They really work with my hourglass frame and balance my curves. I love nothing more than a nice classic black pair of flare trousers. I team it with a shirt or a nice going-out top and you are good to go. They really are a nice versatile style of trousers.

Knitwear
I know it seems too early to talk knitwear but it isn't. The night is noticeably cooler and you need a jumper or a cardigan to cover up with. This is a great time to buy some big chunky knit cardigans as they are still on sale with it not quite being winter yet. I love an oversized cardigan you can throw it on and get super cosy in a couple of seconds. I just love the aesthetic of this look too. its fashion meets function in the best way.

Dresses
Another option of knitwear is a jumper dress. I have had these in my wardrobe for years and I find I especially reach for them in September. They look classic and keep you warm without being too warm and they really can elevate any look. Add a pair of heels for a going-out look or some chunky boots for an everyday feel. Dress it up or down you are one to a winner and you can wear it in winter too. So this is the perfect time to go on the hunt for your perfect jumper dress.

Boots
Believe it or not, now is the time to invest in some nice boots. I buy now for a couple of reasons. One they will be worn in and nice and comfy by winter and two they are always in sale at this time of year.

You can get a cracking bargain on really lovely boots that you can start wearing now and they will see you right through to winter. Plus let's face it, it's about to get wet really soon and it is time to put away our lovely summer shoes and get the weatherproof numbers out.

Gilet
I am not sure I could live without this invention. I love a Gilet they are perfect for the changing weather. Pop one on and you are nice and warm. They are easy to pack away and I really love the look of a gilet.

During these transitional months, gilets are the perfect option for some nice warmth without being too much warmth. You can get them in so many styles now. Which I love. I used to have a puffer one before they were even in fashion. Well, I did tell you I am from the Scottish highland, didn't I? Being warm is a necessity, not an option up here.

I hope this has given you an idea of what to add to your autumn wardrobe.
