Real Beauty

If you don’t struggle with your body image, then kudos to you! You probably spent years recalibrating your brain to think positively. You look in the mirror every morning and see the beauty that radiates from the inside.

Let’s face it: every now and then (or all the time), we all struggle with the way we look. Those Christmas treats didn’t do our waistline any favors, and when the new year rolls around, we’ll have trouble fitting into our jeans.

But listen, there’s nothing wrong with you. Yes, I’m talking about you. You reading this right now. You are beautiful. People come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. There’s no ‘perfect’ size, or complexion, or personality.

Our weight naturally fluctuates throughout our lives for many reasons. Maybe it was a stressful month. Maybe you just had a baby. Or maybe, just maybe, you decided it was time to eat healthier.

No matter what’s going on in your life, you need to be in a place where you can wake up in the morning, look in the mirror, and say, “Good morning, you gorgeous thing.” Because there’s nothing more healthy than the power of positive thinking. And maybe some lovely plus size clothing to go with it.

Did you know that you can change your DNA? You can actually change the pathways in your brain by thinking more positively. Your brain is wired the way it is for many reasons. Some of it has to do with what you inherited from your parents, but the rest comes from external sources.

You can’t always change the way other people act, but you can change the way you act and think. By thinking more positively about yourself and others, you can manipulate your brain into automatically thinking more positively in the future.

This has huge implications for the DNA throughout your body and the traits you pass on to your children. You can change the course of your family’s history with just a little bit of love. You can’t always change the way you look, but you can change the way you think.

So show yourself some love every day. Be kind to your body. Embrace your curves. Love your hair. Pamper your skin. Because beauty comes from within. You’re the only one of you that this world has. Let your light shine. Because that’s real beauty. You are real beauty.
